    2. Overview of Data Processing on This Website

    The protection of your personal data is a central commitment of Faix Consulting. We operate our web infrastructure in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).

    We collect personal data only to the minimum extent required to deliver a secure, technically robust web presentation and to process your business inquiries.

    3. Web Hosting & Server Log Files

    When accessing our website, the web server automatically collects and temporarily stores technical connection details in server log files. These include:

    • IP address of the requesting device
    • Date and time of server access
    • Name and URL of the retrieved file/page
    • HTTP status response code
    • Browser type, language, and operating system version
    • Referrer URL (the page previously visited)

    This data is processed exclusively to maintain system security, verify technical stability, and prevent unauthorized network attacks. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Art. 6 revDSG (legitimate interest in the secure and fault-free operation of our web services). This technical data is not combined with other data sources and is purged automatically in accordance with standard server retention cycles.

    4. SSL / TLS Encryption

    For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential information (such as inquiries sent via our contact form), this site uses industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the padlock icon in your browser address bar and the “https://” prefix. When encryption is active, data transmitted between your device and our server cannot be intercepted by third parties.

    5. Contact Form & Business Inquiries

    When you send us inquiries via our online contact form, the details you enter (name, email address, subject, and message) are transmitted securely to our mail server and stored to process your inquiry and handle any follow-up questions.

    The processing of this data is grounded in Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR / Art. 6 revDSG (handling pre-contractual requests or performing contractual advisory services) as well as Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate business interest in responding promptly to client communications). We do not share your contact data with third parties.

    Your inquiry data remains in our systems until the business purpose of the communication is fulfilled, or you request its erasure, provided that mandatory statutory retention obligations (e.g. commercial records preservation under Swiss commercial law) do not require further storage.

    6. Google reCAPTCHA v2 (Bot & Abuse Defense)

    To protect our contact form and our imprint verification from automated abuse, spam bots, and malicious scraping, we integrate Google reCAPTCHA v2 provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for users within the European Economic Area and Switzerland, and Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) globally.

    reCAPTCHA evaluates hardware and software characteristics (e.g. IP address, mouse movements, browser language, installed plugins, time spent on page) to distinguish human users from automated scripts. The data collected during this evaluation is transmitted to Google. The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Art. 6 revDSG (overriding legitimate interest in shielding our communications infrastructure from distributed spam and automated abuse attacks).

    7. Cookies & Local Storage

    Our website uses exclusively technically essential session cookies and the local acknowledgment cookie (cookie-agree) to store your interaction preferences. We do not use third-party marketing, cross-site tracking, or advertising profiling cookies. In accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Swiss revDSG, technical cookies required for the provision of our services do not require consent management banners.

    8. No Analytics Tracking or Profiling Relics

    We do not deploy Universal Google Analytics, GA4, Google Tag Manager, or third-party behavioral heatmaps on this website. All legacy tracking scripts and invalid data transfer mechanisms (such as the legacy Privacy Shield) have been decommissioned.

    Under the revised Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have comprehensive statutory rights regarding your personal data:
